When the round robin ends, the season does not just stop for the villages outside the top few. The union runs its finals across three brackets, the Cup, the Plate and the Bowl, so every team plays for silverware and a final placing right to the end.
The Cup is the championship, contested by the sides that finished the round robin on top. The Plate is the next bracket down, and the Bowl the one below that, with a full set of play-offs settling the order across the whole field. No village finishes the season with a dead rubber: everyone has something to play for.
It is a format built on a simple belief: every village deserves its day. A team that had a tough round robin can still go on a run and lift the Plate or the Bowl, and send their aiga home proud. It keeps the whole competition alive and meaningful, top to bottom, right through finals day.
In 2025 it delivered exactly that: Sale'imoa took the Cup, B/Y Vaiala the Plate, and Leulumoega-Tuai the Bowl, three villages, three trophies, one community. Tautua mo Sāmoa.
